We are two friends, Scott and Jeff. We’ve known each other for eleven years and have shared much of life’s journey together. Scott received his M.Div. from Regent College in Vancouver, BC, where he lives with his wife, Tami, and their son, Asher. Scott enjoys brewing his own beer, reading, playing basketball, hiking, and spending time in the outdoors. Jeff received his M.A. in Comparative Cultural Studies from the Ohio State University and is currently finishing up his Ph.D. Jeff enjoys spending time in the gym, photography, the outdoors, cigars, and general merriment.
The title of our blog explains it all. We understand the Christian faith as a life giving message of reconciliation and redemption, shalom. This blog is the result of our friends prodding us to begin organizing our thoughts about life and faith. If you are our friend, stop bugging us! If you don’t know us, welcome. We hope that you will be encouraged and challenged not only in your thinking but, more importantly, in your living.

I just finished reading you “Be patient” post. I googled “Be patient” looking for the words to the song. My children had me me at the very end of my rope today as all three stood at my feet haranguing me as I tried to make supper. At the top off my voice (so to be heard above the tumult) I began to sing the words that had somehow drifted out of the mists of my childhood…but I couldn’t recall the final line. The children, shocked and somewhat stunned by my sudden and violent outburst, said “Mommy, that was great…but how does the rest go?” So, here I am reading your blog and laughing out loud because some else has sung this song at the top of their voice. Thank you, it was an encouragement!
